In spring of 1967, my grandparents were searching for a place to spend holidays with their family, when my father was four years old. They found a little cabin on the Norwegian mountain of Norefjell for sale in the local newspaper and bought it, with the intention of spending long summers and cold winters there, together as a family.
Over the course of the next 50 years, the little cabin named Bergastova has since become a place of sanctuary for three generations.
This is a personal project about returning to Norefjell for the first time in ten years. A place filled with nostalgia and childhood memories, after not visiting since the age of nine, following the death of my father.
